You can contact us if your concern involves an organization we serve. In our first conversation, we clarify whether we are the appropriate contact and how your information will be handled confidentially.
What kinds of concerns can be reported?
Examples include suspected corruption, breach of trust, fraud, manipulation of procurement processes, or other serious violations of rules. You do not need a completed legal assessment. What matters is specific observations: what happened, when, where, and who was involved?
An ombuds engagement may cover subject areas and groups of people beyond the statutory scope of the HinSchG. Statutory protection, however, depends on meeting the requirements of that Act. A complaint about a decision or a personal conflict is therefore not automatically a protected report.
Before your first conversation
- Start by naming the organization concerned and asking to speak with an ombudsperson.
- Tell us how and when we can contact you confidentially.
- Discuss sensitive documents and how to send them with us first.
- Distinguish your own observations from assumptions and information received from others.
Using the confidential reporting service engaged by the organization is free of charge for whistleblowers. It does not create a personal attorney-client relationship, for example to challenge a dismissal.
